2010 Road Trip - Rockford and Lake County

This 6 day trip will include sightseeing in Milwaukee, four baseball games (Goldeyes versus the Rockford Riverhawks for 1 game and Lake County Fielders for 3 games), and a post game meal with the Goldeyes team. This excursion is planned over the August long weekend, so book your vacation now!

We will depart Winnipeg on Wednesday, July 28 at 6:00 am from the Salisbury House at 2081 Pembina Highway. The first stop is the duty free before crossing the border. The lunch break will be in Fargo. We then travel to Woodbury for an overnight stop. Free night to visit the Mall of America or possibly see the St. Paul Saints take on The Sioux Falls Canaries.

Thursday, July 29 - depart early morning to travel to Rockford. Expected arrival is 4 pm. We will attend the Riverhawks vs. Goldeyes game starting at 7:00 pm.

Friday, July 30 - depart for Lake County. Some sightseeing/shopping along the way (it’s only a 2 hour drive to Lake County and we cannot check into the hotel before 3 pm). See the game Friday night vs. the Lake County Fielders.

Saturday, July 31 – depart by coach at 9:00 am for Milwaukee. The Brewers are away so we will go for a tour of Miller Field ($15 US per person, not included) and other sightseeing to be arranged such as a tour of Harley Davidson or a brewery. Return to Lake County for a game starting at 6:00 pm. The Goldeyes players, coaches, and broadcaster Paul Edmonds will be joining us for our post-game dinner.

Sunday, August 1 – sleep in – check out of hotel at noon and depart for ballpark for afternoon game starting at 1:00 pm. Depart for return trip home from the ballpark right after the game. Travel to Woodbury for overnight stop. It is about 7 hours driving time plus stops so our probable arrival time is midnight.

Monday, August 2 – depart for Winnipeg at 9:00 am. Expected arrival time 8:00 pm (border crossing may take longer as it is the August long weekend).

Cost of the road trip is $695 which includes all bus transportation, 5 nights hotels (based on double occupancy), 4 Goldeyes game tickets, souvenir tee shirt, and post game meal with the team. As a special offer, all 2009 Fan Club members received a $100 coupon and all new members received a $50 coupon for the Road Trip (one coupon per Fan Club member). Road Trip coupons were valid until Jun 9, 2010. Road trip application and a non-refundable deposit of $200 were due Jun 9, 2010, with the balance due July 11, 2010.

NOTE: PROPOSED ITINERARY SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Seating for games in Lake County is bleachers and not seats with backs.
